Hexamine
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
In the reaction Vessel, calculated amount of
Ammonia is introduced simultaneously where reaction of Ammonia with
Formaldehyde produces Hexamine in water solution. Activated Carbon is also added
here to absorb any impurities like iron etc., present in the reactants. The
Ammonia-Formaldehyde reaction is highly exothermic and advantage is taken of
this fact by application of vacuum to the top of reactor for concentration of
the solution. The concentrated solution settles down and by the time it comes
out to the reactor at the bottom, crystalisation has taken place. The crystals
along with mother liquor are pumped through the crystals receiver and then
separated in the Centrifuge.
The crystals are then further passed through the
Rotary Dryer for Drying and then packed in HDPE Bags for sales.
6HCHO + 4NH3 = C6H12N4 + 6H2O
